Letter writers should stay on point

Published:

By Eric Cooper

I thought the “Letters to the Editor” section of your paper was a public forum for subjects brought up in your paper. But at least once a week, Ron Lowe has a letter printed that has nothing to do with any subject covered in the SMDP. This week, he thinks Bush is having firemen spy on us (“Not the firefighters, too,” Dec. 3). Please!

All of his letters have the same loopy, tiresome Bush-bashing rant.

Either give him his own column or restrict him to subjects discussed in your paper. If he just wants to roll out of bed spewing stream-of-consciousness brain doodles, he should make the trek down to the Third Street Promenade and stand there with other people doing similar monologues.
