Your Dec. 29,2007 edition, particularly the front page article (“The ‘07 stories that shaped Santa Monica”), surprised me for what I would call a glaring omission.
The wonderful 4th of July Parade, organized by the good people of the Ocean Park Association, certainly deserved at least a mention considering the title of your article.
The people, all ages and sizes, who marched down Main Street represented the best of Santa Monica. People of good will from all parts of the world, different backgrounds, different colors, joined together to celebrate an especially American tradition.
For me, a new citizen of Santa Monica, this was a particularly wonderful introduction to Santa Monica life.
