The city of Malibu has released the list of recipients for its Fiscal Year 2026/2027 General Fund Grant Program, which awards grants each year to local nonprofits whose work benefits the community.
Mayor Bruce Silverstein said the program and its long list of worthy causes reflect the community's charitable, compassionate character — something all of Malibu can be proud of.
As part of the annual budget process, the City Council regularly sets aside funds for grants. The Administration & Finance Subcommittee, which includes Silverstein and Councilmember Doug Stewart, prioritized Malibu-based causes that directly benefit the local community. The subcommittee reviewed all applications and presented them to the council for approval during the annual budget in June. The city designated a total of $150,000 for the program.
The 2026/2027 recipients are AYSO Region 759 — Malibu, Big Heart Ranch, Boomer's Buddies Rescue, California Wildlife Center, Corral Canyon Fire Safety Alliance, Esperance Center, Hand in Hand, Malibu Adamson House Foundation, Malibu Coast Surf Lifesaving Association, Malibu Community Labor Exchange, Malibu Connective, Malibu Elementary School PTA, Malibu Friends of Music, Malibu Little League, Malibu Marlins Swim Club, Malibu Monarch Project, Malibu Search and Rescue, Not One More Time Inc., Point Dume Community Services District, Poison Free Malibu, Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains, Santa Monica Mountains Fund, Sea Save Foundation, Shalom Institute, The Aurelia Foundation dba Creative Steps, The Children's Lifesaving Foundation, The Emily Shane Foundation, Western Los Angeles County Council/Scouting America and Wishtoyo Foundation.
