By REAGAN WHEELER

The Mansfield Chamber Singers, performers on the Westside since 1979, will present two concerts in Santa Monica the week of June 10. The concerts will feature sacred and secular music from the 16th through the 21st centuries, with a “Wanting Memories” theme. The program includes works by Brahms, Mahler, Luca Marenzm as well as contemporary composers Arthur Frackenpohl, Gwyneth Walker, Eric Whitacre, Stephen Chatman, and Michael Wells. Additionally, Spanish songs collected and harmonized by Federico Garcia Lorca will be performed. Ysaye M. Barnwell, a writer and performer with the renowned group Sweet Honey in the Rock, has landed the title spot with his composition “Wanting Memories.”

The 27-voice group can be seen at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 958 Lincoln Blvd. The second performance will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at St. Augustine by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, 1227 Fourth St. This well-traveled group — having toured Germany, the Czech Republic, and Austria — encourage voluntary donations from the public. For further information about the program, call (310) 471-1247.
