Mexican heritage in miniatures

Published:

By Daily Press staff

There’s a special event at the Angels Attic in celebration of Cinco de Mayo. From now until May 15, school and church groups are welcome to come and participate in arts and crafts, storytelling and music that celebrate the heritage and cultural contributions of Mexican-Americans.

The centerpiece of the two-week long fiesta will be the “Mexican Mansion,” a dollhouse from Puebla, Mexico, dating back to 1890. The Mexican Mansion is a melding of European 19th century architectural traditions. The house is three stories with nine rooms, and comes complete with six dolls.

Angels Attic is a non-profit museum of antique dollhouses, miniature dolls and toys located at 516 Colorado Ave.
