In order to meet the demand for recycling bins from commercial customers ever since the Solid Waste Management Division was tapped last year to be the only provider of commercial collection in the city, city staff is requesting the council to approve a contract to purchase 800 more bins.
Staff is recommending the council award a $500,000 contract to Consolidated Fabricators to supply the recycling bins.
The Solid Waste Management Division was among the seven companies that applied to be the sole provider of commercial collection in the city last year.
