NE The history of taking a seat

Published:

This may be the only classroom where sitting down detracts from learning. Who knew that chairs were endowed with a history worthy of examination? The Getty Center knew, and that’s why they’re offering a class entitled “From Louis XV to Le Corbusier: A History of the Chair.” For design students or the intellectually curious, you will never again sit down the same way.

The second part of the class takes place at the Getty Center Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Course fees from from $20 (student) to $30. For more information, go to www.getty.edu.
