Published:

Management firm WorleyParsons Komex is expected to join the team for the Charnock Well Field Restoration Project, providing technical oversight and support services for an undertaking that will replenish the local drinking water supply.

The drinking water wells at the Charnock Field were shut down in 1996 due to MTBE contamination, a gasoline additive. City Hall has imported water from the Metropolitan Water District since the incident. WorleyParsons Komex is expected to receive a $900,000 contract, among its services to ensure that the improvements proposed by the contractor are appropriate.
