New traffic system

Published:

Traffic engineering firm Kimley-Horn and Associates is expected to receive a $660,000 contract to design and prepare plans for a new traffic management system. The Advanced Traffic Management System, which will initially be used in Downtown Santa Monica and then expanded citywide, will synchronize traffic signal timing within the entire system.

The system will provide centralized control over all traffic signal operations and other related devices, such as traffic monitoring cameras, on one system.
