Ronald Erwin Eisenberg, 52, was arrested for attempted murder on May 26 at his home in the 2000 block of 14th Street. He allegedly ran over a man on May 24 at 8:10 p.m. near the intersection of Ashland Avenue and 11th Street, according to Santa Monica police.
Police said the victim was allegedly followed by Eisenberg from the area of 14th and Pearl streets. Eisenberg is thought to have then followed the victim for several blocks while honking his horn. When the victim got out of his vehicle to confront him, Eisenberg drove toward the victim and struck him with his vehicle.
After reading an article in the May 26 edition of the SMDP, a neighbor of Eisenberg recognized the description of his vehicle and alerted police. When police went to Eisenberg’s house, they found a 1998 Toyota 4-Runner. Evidence was taken from the vehicle and Eisenberg was put under arrest.
