Two local nonprofits are $10,000 richer thanks to another nonprofit. The PacifiCare Foundation, a nonprofit organization established by PacifiCare Health Systems, Inc, has contributed $27,500 to two community-based organizations in Santa Monica.

The Center for the Partially Sighted received a $10,000 grant to provide stipends for low-income clients with diabetes. The center provides comprehensive low-vision rehabilitation services for severely vision impaired people.

Wise Senior Services received a $10,000 donation to expand its adult day care service to low-income, non-English speaking Hispanic seniors. Wise Senior Services promotes the well-being, independence and self-esteem of older adults to prevent institutionalization whenever possible.

The PacifiCare Foundation is a nonprofit organization devoted to charitable and educational causes that enhance the health, wellness and welfare of individuals, families and the public at large. The Foundation, which has donated tens of millions of dollars over the past decade, is funded through donations made by PacifiCare Health Systems, PacifiCare subsidiary operations, and its 7,800-plus employees.
