Ocean Park home burns

Published:

An Ocean Park home suffered damages estimated at about $150,000 on Thursday, after a fire engulfed the single-family residence. No one was home and no injuries were reported.

The Santa Monica Fire Department responded to the house, located at 719 Bay Street, at 1:14 a.m., which was in flames.

The fire started in the living room, and extended to the dining room and kitchen, toward the front of the house. Twenty-five firefighters and other emergency workers responded to the scene. The blaze was extinguished at 1:22 a.m.

The cause of the fire is being investigated. Fire department spokeswoman Jill Barnes said investigators have narrowed down the source.

“There’s a couple of things it could have been,” she said.
