In response to David Pisarra and Proposition T, I see it as a “no brainer” issue. What is there to debate when we have eight square miles of a tiny seaside city being trashed by developers? They make huge profits in our city, while residents get stuck with the huge traffic mess they create. How can one argue about wealthy absentee landlords making a profit while our quality of life turns ugly. More development is coming: Our city has refused to set any annual limits on commercial development. They have just greenlighted increases in new building heights on our major boulevards, from Wilshire to Pico, to as high as six stories tall. Prop. T is a grass roots effort with little money compared with the wealthy developers, so be prepared for big lies in opposition to our efforts.
