The city of Santa Monica is staging the second annual Holiday Tree of Life through Dec. 23, in which patrons have the opportunity to visit the Woodlawn Cemetery and Mausoleum to hang ornaments on the tree in memory of a loved one that has passed away.
Cemetery staff has issued an invitation to any willing participants who have lost a loved one accompanied by a complimentary booklet entitled, “Thoughts for the Holidays... Finding Permission to Grieve.”
Hours are Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cemetery is located at 1847 14th St., across the street from Santa Monica College.
