The Santa Monica Police Department's Community Impact Team conducted a focused narcotics operation near the train platform in the 1500 block of Fourth Street, responding to increased livability concerns and information about drug activity in the area.
Using SMART Center camera resources, personnel observed suspected hand-to-hand drug sales and directed uniformed officers to the people involved.
One person was arrested on suspicion of possessing narcotics for sale after officers recovered suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl and various pills.
Two others were cited for possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
The department said it continues to address neighborhood concerns through focused enforcement, supported by SMART Center resources that help personnel coordinate with officers in the field.
