Los Angeles police are still unaware of the fate of a suspect who was shot at by an officer and fled on foot early Sunday morning.
Police responded to a radio call of shots being fired around 3:10 a.m. at the corner of Sixth Avenue and Broadway in Venice. An officer shot at the suspect who pointed a gun in his direction, according to Officer Karen Smith, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department.
The suspect fled on foot and police established a perimeter south to Westminster Avenue, aided by a K-9 unit. Officers recovered a gun but were unable to locate the suspect.
“They still don’t know if he was hit,” Smith said on Monday.
There were no injuries reported and there was no further information available regarding the incident.
