Police arrested a driver and seized an untraceable ghost gun fitted with a large-capacity magazine during a traffic stop in the 2800 block of Ocean Park Boulevard.

Officers stopped the vehicle after receiving reports of a man with a gun and safely detained the driver, according to police. A search turned up the firearm.

Police said ghost guns pose a significant threat to community safety because they bypass serial number tracking and background checks.

“Every illegal firearm off our streets is one less potential tragedy,” police said in a statement.

Police did not release the date of the stop, the driver’s name or any charges.
