City Hall hopes to continue its solar power initiatives in Santa Monica.
The council could grant a more than $236,000 contract extension to EcoMotion to oversee the Solar Santa Monica project up to 2010.
The Solar Santa Monica project launched last year, a program that facilitates the solar panel installation process for home and business owners. In the past year, the “installed photovoltaic capacity” in the city has doubled with approximately 40 solar panel installations in 2007, according to city staff.
EcoMotion was hired in September 2006 to develop the Solar Santa Monica program, including creating a marketing campaign advertising the project.
