DOWNTOWN Three juveniles were arrested for allegedly using a cell phone on Tuesday to make several prank calls about a person with a gun on the campuses of Lincoln and John Adams middle schools, forcing a lockdown at both locations, police said Thursday.

The arrests were made Wednesday with the help of personnel from the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified Schools District, said Lt. Alex Padilla, of the Santa Monica Police Department.

As a result of the prank calls, officers and school staff ordered a lockdown at both schools.

Each juvenile arrested admitted to their roles in the prank calls, Padilla said.

Arrested were two 13-year-old females and a 12-year-old male. They were each issued citations and released to their parents.

This case has been sent to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
