Problems with Big Blue

Published:

By Joanne Gamlin

As a resident near downtown Los Angeles, I rely on the Big Blue Bus No. 10 a lot. One reason, it gives excellent service.

But the same cannot be said of the folks at the BBB transit office in downtown Santa Monica. I entered that office on May 15 to ask if the No. 7 bus stops at or near Pico and Doheny? “Absolutely not,” said a woman there who suggested that I seek help from the MTA.

I exited that office mightily confused. I wanted to visit a company located between Doheny and Robertson on Pico. Soon after I spotted a No. 7 bus with a driver on Santa Monica Boulevard. Rushing toward him, I asked if his bus stopped at Pico and Doheny? “Yes,” he affirmed, twice.

When will the Big Blue Bus recognize that its center employees should posses intricate information about all bus routes? And not spout the gross misinformation that I got.
