Discover an eclectic mix of exquisite antiques, contemporary art and more at the second annual Los Angeles Decorative Arts Fair in the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium this weekend.

By combining collected antiques with modern objects from a wide variety of cultures and time periods, the show addresses a growing trend of eclecticism in California homes. More than 60 international dealers representing art, antique and design will exhibit at the event. Everything from Mapplethorpe photographs and antique majorlica tureens to Victorian figurative napkin rings and French farmtables will be on display. The show provides an opportunity for guests to purchase quality home accessories from many geographic regions and time periods.

Art show producer Caskey & Lees has expanded upon last year’s show to include a wider array of exhibitors catering to California’s tastes in the arts and design. This year, the show is geared for homeowners, private collectors and holiday shoppers, as well as those who enjoy to browse the galleries.

Among the art featured at the show will be photographs from the G. Ray Hawkins Gallery. The gallery will include photography by Abbot, Adams, Arbus, Coleman, Cunningham, Eisenstaedt, Metzner, Steiglitz and many others.

There will also be a wide selection of tableware this year. These items will be divided into ceramics, porcelains and china, but also will include glassware and decorative items.

Quimper pottery will also be available. Quimper, located in northwestern France, has been a pottery town since the days when the area was part of the Roman Empire. The current history of Quimper pottery begins in 1690 with the arrival of Jean-Baptiste Bousquet. Bousquet started his factory in the section of Quimper known as Loc-Maria. He specialized in the production of utilitarian pottery such as tablewares and clay pipes for smoking tobacco. Quimper pottery will be available from the Meadows Collection.

The fair will be held today and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $10 per person. For more information, call (310) 455- 2886 or visit www.caskeylees.com. The Santa Monica Civic Auditorium is located at 1855 Main St.
