Visitors will be serenaded by Castledoor and Low vs. Diamond tonight at the Hammer museum’s “Also I like to Rock” series.
Silver Lake’s Castledoor has been charming local audiences with its intricate songcraft and ethereal sound. On their sold-out, self-released EP, “Follow the Dove,” joyful lyrics float on heavenly waves of vocal harmonies.
Lush, languorous and beautifully bittersweet — that’s the sound of “Life After Love,” the stunning debut EP from Marrakesh recording artists Low vs Diamond. The intoxicatingly tuneful disc introduces the Los Angeles-based quintet as a band with skyscraping ambition, blending elements of Roxy Music, Smashing Pumpkins and Burt Bacharach to thrilling effect.
Starting at 8 p.m., the free concert event will take place at the Hammer, located at 10899 Wilshire Blvd, 90024.
