By Peter Davison Santa Monica
In Robert Kronovet’s letter (“Bring on Development,” page 4, June 30) he says, “We want development, bring it on.” I’m not sure who the “We” is he claims to represent. No one in my neck of Pico [Boulevard] and Euclid [Street] wants to “bring on the development.” We already have gridlock traffic from too much development in Santa Monica, our schools are way overcrowded, buildings are getting bigger and bigger and no amount of euphemistic “Village” doggerel will change this. We already have enough people crammed into our eight little miles. As Kronovet puts it, “Build it and they will come.” We already have enough. That is why “We” support and applaud RIFT (Residents Initiative to Fight Traffic). “We” say bring on RIFT.
