I listened with incredulity to comment at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting describing 2617 Third St. as “uninhabitable.” I inhabited that address for 14 years — as one member of a family of four. Yes, this meant innovative sleeping arrangements for two adults and two children living in a one bedroom/one bathroom house, but we were very happy living there. Every time I walk by, I am so saddened that the house is unoccupied (and has been, for seven years). It is a beautiful old house which enriches the neighborhood; the owners should be ashamed to see their greed on public display.
