SANTA MONICA Growing up

Published:

Santa Monica Public Library presents An Evening with Mary Frosch on Thursday, August 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Library’s second floor Multipurpose Room, 601 Santa Monica Boulevard.

Ms. Frosch will read from and discuss “Coming of Age Around the World,” a collection of 24 stories that chronicle the global quest for identity, and demonstrate the personal and political importance of sharing our stories. Editors Mary Frosch and Faith Adiele encourage the reader to consider whether coming of age is a Western — or Universal — concept. Mary Frosh has taught at The Spence School in New York, where she designed a world literature program, for 23 years. A book sale and signing will follow the event, courtesy of Barnes & Noble.

This program is free and open to the public. Seating is limited and on a first arrival basis. For more information, contact the Santa Monica Public Library at (310) 458- 8600; or visit the Library’s web site at www.smpl.org.
