Santa Monica Missed opportunity

Published:

By David Alsabery

Ms. Noveck’s article about Clinton backers and Palin (”Most Clinton backers say Palin’s too far a stretch,” page 7, Sept. 8) is missing the point. I personally know many women that like both Clinton and Palin. All women are not represented by Hillary Clinton, Gloria Steinem and Mariah Carey. In picking Biden, they missed the historic opportunity for real change. The Democratic Party has a large group of fantastic women that are better qualified and have more experience than Obama, Biden and Clinton combined. If Kathleen Sebelius, Governor of Kansas, was selected as VP, the Democrats would have won this election handily. The Democrats would have had an unstoppable candidate four to eight years later for president as well. How about more than one woman on the ticket? Jennifer Granholm, the Governor of Michigan, is a rock star as well. Shame on the Democratic Party for not stepping up when they had the chance. It is shameful that the United States has not been lead by a women while the top five largest Islamic countries like Turkey, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Pakistan elect women as prime ministers. The Hillary or nothing attitude is stupid and bad for America and its women.
