Just to clarify the details about last week’s City Council race: A lot of people in Santa Monica did want new blood in the City Council. There were so many candidates running, that the votes were spread out and no one won.
The current City Council had made the homeless problem worse, with countless hours of lip service, and no action. They say they are for low density. I guess that means in the area where they live, not where we live.
Have any of these councilmembers driven around Santa Monica at rush hour or tried to park where there’s no parking?
We all know safety should be the government’s first priority. There are cameras in the markets, so why not the pier if SMPD recommends them?
The bottom live is that Shutters on the Beach and Casa del Mar are lovely hotels. They are assets to our community, and I am glad they are here.
