The city of Santa Monica on Sept. 29 released a request for proposals for its Human Services Grants Program. The city is seeking applications for the fiscal year 2027-31 funding cycle.
The city will provide about $10 million to selected agencies to address critical community needs and gaps in existing services.
The program currently funds 21 programs run by 18 agencies, serving more than 30,000 residents a year. The programs aim to improve the well-being and quality of life of vulnerable and low-income residents. Those residents include children, youth and families, older adults, people with disabilities and people experiencing homelessness. The goal is an effective, strong safety net for Santa Monicans.
The request for proposals is available on the city of Santa Monica's OpenGov Procurement Portal. Qualifying agencies may apply by logging into or creating an OpenGov Procurement account. All proposals must be submitted through OpenGov.
Questions are due Oct. 19. Applications are due by 5 p.m. Dec. 14.
Funding recommendations will be presented to the City Council in spring 2027. The council will formally approve funding as part of budget adoption in June 2027. The new funding cycle begins July 1, 2027.
