I recently attended a salute to WWII event at the VA center in Brentwood. It brought back memories of those times I had long forgotten, that it was called “the war to end all wars.” What has happened since? There has been Korea, Bay of Pigs, Vietnam, Panama, Contras, Grenada (and those are only the ones I remember) and now Iraq. Looking back, I can’t remember that any of these countries posed any threat to us. How can we stop our leaders from causing these catastrophes when they continually lie to us?
Fortunately, we have one candidate who admits he would approve an indefinite occupation of Iraq “if necessary.” Let us hope there are enough people who know it is not “necessary” and, regardless of party, will vote for our candidate who promises peace.
