SANTA MONICA Saving the music

Published:

Public radio station, KCRW, is currently campaigning to preserve and modernize its musical archives, which contain over 60,000 recordings. The funds raised will help transfer the outdated vinyl and cassette formats into the highest-fidelity digital audio files.

The Annenberg Foundation and RealNetworks have given grants of $100,000 to help fund this process. “A Sounds Eclectic Evening” will also aid the campaign. For more information, visit www.kcrw.com.
