Santa Claus and some of his musical friends will make a stop at the Santa Monica Pier’s Carousel Building this weekend to celebrate the season.
On Saturday Santa will be joined by the choral group Eva’s Angels from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and the Samohi Chamber Orchestra from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Eva’s Angels will be singing popular holiday selections from all genres. The orchestra also will be performing holiday selections and selling raffle tickets to support their program. The raffle drawing will be held on Feb. 27 at the orchestra’s “On a Sweet Note” fundraiser at UCLA and prizes will include front-row-and-center tickets to a Lakers game, a Clippers game and a Kings game. The winner will be contacted by phone if not present at the UCLA event.
On Sunday, the pier will present a special holiday performance by “LA Hip Kids,” a group of young singers and dancers from the Los Angeles area with professional aspirations. The performance begins at 2:30 p.m. on the pier’s “center stage” between the police substation and Surf View Cafe.
All performances are free and open to the public. For more information, call the pier information line at (310) 458-8900 or visit www.santamonicapier.org.
