Have a soiled, worn or tattered flag? The Santa Monica Elks are asking community members to give any old flags to the Elks club instead of throwing them into the garbage.
The Santa Monica Elks will be hold a flag retirement ceremony in early February where the flags will be burned or cremated.
If you or your neighbor has such a flag — U.S., POW or California — drop it off at the Elk’s Lodge at 1040 Pico Blvd.
