The Santa Monica College Theatre Arts Department will present Arthur Miller's "The Crucible" Sept. 25 through Oct. 4 at the Theatre Arts Main Stage on the SMC Main Campus, 1900 Pico Blvd.
Set during the 1692 witch trials in the Puritan village of Salem, Massachusetts, the play follows a community consumed by fear, suspicion and accusations of witchcraft. As hysteria spreads, neighbors turn against neighbors, friendships shatter and the line between truth and lies disappears.
The production is directed by SMC Theatre Arts faculty member Dr. Adrianne Harrop.
Evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25 and Oct. 2, and Saturday, Sept. 26 and Oct. 3. Matinees are at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27 and Oct. 4. All performances are subject to change or cancellation without notice.
Advance tickets range from $25 to $28, or $18 for SMC students and staff, plus a modest service charge. Tickets can be purchased online at smc.edu/tickets or by calling 310-434-4165 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tickets purchased on performance weekends at the Events Box Office at the Theatre Arts building are $3 higher.
