Smelling something rotten

A recent “Nova” science program on local PBS channels reported on the importance of tree leaves on the environment. Their action of absorbing poisonous gas emitted by autos, and producing oxygen, is now being studied by scientists, but so far attempts to imitate it have been unsuccessful. Instead, we are advised, “keep planting trees.”

But not Ginkgo bilobas!

I have just learned that these female types bear a fruit that has a horrible odor — best described as vomit. Ugh!

Why is our City Council continually pushing actions that are destroying our city. There’s something rotten in Santa Monica, and let’s get rid of it.

More money than common sense

Once again our brilliant city leaders spring to the forefront. Save water, cut back on the yard watering, etc., etc., etc. And at the same time these morons are in the process of putting in center islands on Colorado Avenue with about 20 sprinkler heads in each unit. Our leaders, if you want to call them that, are setting a fine example for us all to follow.

Questioning McCain’s pick

It looks like Senator Experience just used his good judgment to select the prettiest girl to be his running, er, mate. No more long, lonely hours on the, ahem, Straight Talk Express! The old codger still has a few tricks! Whadda [sic] guy.

Doncha [sic] just love the way Republican pundits are spinning her “executive experience!”

Clearly, the Republican candidate and his party have put political game playing way above concern for governance, and yet their slogan is “Country First.” Go figure.

Playing the record backwards

Jim Adkisson walked into the Unitarian Universalist church in Knoxvill, Tenn. shooting eight people, killing two. His reason: He hates gay people and liberals. How many hours a day did Mr. Adkisson listen to hate radio and Michael Savage spew out hate on gays and liberals? There is a correlation between weak minds being pushed over the edge and listening to the constant attacks by right wing radio jocks.

In another incident a man burst into the Arkansas Democratic headquarters, killing party chairman Bill Gwatney. Did the killer, Timothy Dale Johnson, listen to Rush Limbaugh every day as he poisons the airways and atmosphere with his hate everything Democrat and Liberal?
