With the school year coming to a close, the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District is putting the word out about enrolling in preschool programs for 2008-09.

Free comprehensive Head Start and State Preschool services are available to qualifying families with children ages 3 to 4. The district also offers Los Angeles Universal Preschool and general child care programs with full-and partial-day options. Special needs children are welcome.

“It’s our goal to serve as many families whose parents are working or going to school or are in transition, and are in need of child care,” said Melissa Ebberts of Child Develop Services-Preschool Programs for the district.
