Who said reading isn’t fun? Santa Monica Public Library presents a Harry Potter Extravaganza, featuring games, crafts, prizes, and much more at the Montana Avenue Branch, 1704 Montana Ave., on Saturday, July 30, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
“Library staff and services aim to instill a love of reading and books in children,” said Ellen Braby, coordinator of youth services at the library. “J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series sparks imaginations and inspires children to tackle 700-page books. It’s encouraging to see and it’s cause for a celebration.”
Children ages 8 and up are welcome at the event and encouraged to wear costumes. For more information, call (310) 829-7081, or visit www.smplkids.org <http://www.smplkids.org/>. Help save a life
