Santa Monicans will have opportunities to learn more about health and fitness during an exhibition being organized by local health care organizations.

The Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce has announced the 24th Annual Health Festival, featuring exhibitors from all areas of healthcare. The event — sponsored by Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital, Saint John’s Health Center, and Santa Monica – UCLA Medical Center — will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, on the parking lot on the Santa Monica Pier. “This family-friendly event helps residents (be aware) of the latest in developments in health and fitness,” said Jean McNeil Wyner, Health Festival chair. “Santa Monica is blessed with world-renowned hospitals and related health care businesses. This is their chance to give back to the community.”

In addition to more than 40 participants, there will be a wide variety of health-care demonstrations and presentations as well as public safety information. The event will include: free blood pressure screenings, chair massage, body fat analysis, eye screening, postural analysis, face painting for kids, information on alternative directives, introductory pilates and self-defense training, health assessments, chiropractic and dental care, senior resources and samples of health care products.
