Responding to S. Meric’s letter (SMDP, Aug. 11, page 4) regarding the “noise” at Sunday’s Farmers Market, I find this very interesting that S. Meric is not a resident of Ocean Park. I proudly am a resident of Ocean Park within visual and hearing distance of the market. Every Sunday I look forward to hearing the music and watching the people and children. I suggest that S. Meric shop on Saturday at the other two locations for fruits and vegetables, in silence. Our great city does give choices, living in a free society we have choices to make decisions if you want to have high energy and enjoyment or silence. Regarding S. Meric’s statement “why do Americans” always have to have some noise going? Is that to imply that S. Meric is not an American, complaining about the very people of the country he/she is living in? Sorry S. Meric, you must be kidding. How could you possibly be serious about complaining about an art? Be happy and enjoy life. Find a half full glass.
