Santa Monica Alternative School House will be holding its annual Super SMASH Saturday event this weekend from 2 to 7 p.m. at the corner of Ocean Park Boulevard and Fifth Street.
The carnival is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Ocean Park public school, a K-8 learning center committed to progressive education. As of now, SMASH faces the elimination of the principal position under the school district’s budget cuts, so fundraising is especially important this year, according to the school’s PTSA.
The celebration features a silent auction, kids games and crafts, a BBQ, live music and other entertainment.
Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for kids.
