Yesterday we reported that Marina Harbor Apartments in Marina Del Rey was being sued by non-resident Maria Guerrero who had slipped down the communal stairwell while helping a friend move from her apartment to another apartment in the same complex.
The sprinklers in the garden had been turned on and water had spilled onto the stairway. Guerrero slipped on the stairway, which had a handrail on both sides. She sued the building owners and asked the court to award her damages for out of pocket medical expenses and punitive damages amounting to $5,000.
The ruling in the case, without comment, was in favor of Guerrero.
