"The Cigarette Surfboard" is back online starting Oct. 1, along with all of the recorded question-and-answer sessions, after what its filmmakers called a resounding success at the film's online premiere.

The filmmakers said they are putting the film back online because of the overwhelming number of requests to see it. It is available at https://watch.eventive.org/thecigarettesurfboard

The team said it has been grateful for the overwhelmingly positive responses to the film over the past few weeks.

Professional surfer and ocean activist Rob Machado praised the film and the people who supported it.

"Congratulations on making a freakin' awesome film that brings so many issues to light. And it speaks very highly of your guys' vision, just all the people that jumped in to get behind it and believed in it. And look, I take my hat off to you guys, I was blown away and honored to be a part of it," Machado said.

Jake Howard, editor-in-chief of Surfer magazine, recommended the film.

"For those with as much disdain for cigarette butts on the beach as I do, this is a must-see film," Howard said.

Diane Fraser, executive director of the Emerald Coast Science Center, said, "I watched the movie last night. OMG, it is brilliant."

Lauren Oaks, a chemistry teacher at Hampton Roads Academy, said the film connected with her students.

"I have a really unique Oceanography class with some of the top students at our school and some who have one foot out the door and in college already. The film has appealed to all audiences! They're even talking about it in their government class... We are all hooked!" Oaks said.

A review on Rotten Tomatoes said, "We absolutely loved the thoughtfulness and enthusiasm behind this film. I know it has touched and inspired both young and old."

The filmmakers also shared an earlier response from the Bend Film Festival: "An eye-opening and unexpectedly fascinating film. This passionate surfer takes this simple and quirky idea to reach corporate companies and international politics. An entertaining eco-doc with a solid and powerful message."
