Santa Monica College will celebrate International Education Week with a festival of food, music and dances from throughout the world.

The festival will be at 11:15 a.m. today at the campus Clocktower, 1900 Pico Blvd.

Dancers from the student troupe Folklórico de SMC will perform pieces from around the globe. The festival will also feature international contemporary music favorites and edible treats from all corners of the planet.

SMC officials say that having one of the largest international student enrollments of any community college in the nation, the campus atmosphere is decidedly global.

“Developing different perspectives from events like International Education Week is a critical component of the higher education experience,” says Darryl-Keith Ogata, SMC director of international programs.
