Time for new blood

Published:

By Madelyn Tarfman Santa Monica

Isn’t it self evident that in a country with over three billion people, less than half who are able to vote actually do cast a ballot. So why is it so surprising to you that in this city (even with so many educated and world event aware citizens) they follow like sheep the same old ways?

Have you ever sat in on City Council meetings? I don’t attend anymore after listening to some of the views of council members who know little about real estate spout off their opinions of how buildings should be designed. This, then postpones ( sometimes indefinitely ) projects that the architectural review board have already approved, sometimes several times over. They should all resign and bring in new blood. Although like our federal officials and congress, would it even make a difference? Doubt it.
