I speak on behalf of myself and my family (as well as many of those in my neighborhood) in applauding Jeff Bender’s letter to the editor regarding Marvin Martinez’s departure from Santa Monica College (“Moving up in the world,” page 3, Jan.10). As a homeowner at 20th and Pearl (streets) for the past 11 years, I can say we too have never dealt with such ill-conceived and frankly illogical ideas as those displayed recently by Marvin Martinez (on behalf of SMC) and the Big Blue Bus. Hopefully, SMC will be more selective in replacing Mr. Martinez as Mr. Bender states. We concur: Good Riddance!
