Hundreds of senior citizens on LA’s westside bet on volunteers to help keep them from going hungry. Now it’s time for the community to buck up and bet on philanthropy.
Meals on Wheels West is holding a casino night at the beach for its 14th annual fundraising event.
On Saturday,Aug. 26, the California-casual event will host poker, black jack, craps and roulette. Attendees play to win valuable dinners, trips, apparel and more, and try your luck in our Chinese Auction.
Since 1974, Meals on Wheels West has been providing two nutritious meals per day to home-bound people in Santa Monica, Malibu, Pacific Palisades and Topanga. Last year, Meals on Wheels West delivered 95,000 meals to more than 429 people. It is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization funded solely by charitable donations and public/private grants.
The casino night lasts from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel, located at 1700 Ocean Ave. Admission is $50 in advance and $60 at the door. RSVP is encouraged.
