Approximately 300 to 500 people are expected to gather in front of City Hall at 7 a.m. on Thursday for a moment of silent prayer. May 1 is the nation’s 52nd annual National Day of Prayer, and the gathering at Santa Monica City Hall is part of an effort to get thousands of people together for prayer and worship.
This year’s theme is “Righteousness Exalts a Nation,” based on Proverbs 14:34. City Hall is located at 1685 Main Street. Participants can join an optional continental breakfast at 6:30 a.m. on the lawn. A donation of $5 is suggested for the breakfast.
