By Daily Press staff

To learn more about what is happening in war-torn Iraq, tonight is an opportunity to hear stories first-hand.

The Voice of Democracy presents “An Evening with the CODEPINK Iraqi Women’s Tour,” which is a rare opportunity to listen to and interact with informed Iraqi women who passionately desire to correct false assumptions about their country. The event will feature Amal Al- Khedairy and Nermin Al-Mufti. Al- Khedairy is the founder and director of Al-Beit Al-Iraqi (”Iraqi House”), an arts and cultural center in Baghdad that was destroyed by American bombs. Al-Mufti is an internationally recognized journalist.

The program will be introduced by Dustin Hoffman and the music will be performed by Jacqueline Fuentes.

The event begins at 8 p.m. at Venice United Methodist Church, 1020 Victoria Ave., which is near Lincoln Boulevard, one block north of Venice Boulevard.

The minimum donation is $15. All proceeds will be divided between Voice of Democracy/Peace Action and Iraqi Women's Tour/CODEPINK.

The Voice of Democracy is a project of the Peace Action Education Fund, which is presenting an ongoing series of public forums concerning the future of America and its relationship to the world.
