The Wilshire Montana Neighborhood Coalition (WILMONT) will hold its annual general membership meeting on Saturday, June 24 at 1 p.m.

For more than a decade, WILMONT has organized to work with the city of Santa Monica and local businesses to ensure that the voices of local residents are heard. Representing the largest population of any neighborhood organization in the city, WILMONT serves the area bordered by both sides of Montana Avenue to the north, Pacific Coast Highway to the west, 21st Street to the east, and Wilshire Boulevard to the south (north side only), and all streets between.

The new City Manager of Santa Monica P. Lamont Ewell will speak, and residents will have an opportunity to ask questions about his plans for Santa Monica and to voice concerns about community issues.

A panel discussion with experts also is scheduled for the meeting, to discuss options for Santa Monica’s proposed general plan revisions, and how they might impact neighborhood development and density.

The meeting will be held in the Reed Park Auditorium at Christine Emerson Reed Park, located at Lincoln and Wilshire boulevards. Lunch refreshments will be served, and door prizes were donated by local merchants such as Three Bags Full, Panera Bread, Staples, and Number One Beauty. For more information, call (310) 840-2257, e-mail, or visit www.wilmont.org. Police throw a party for the kids
