Children and their parents are asked to play it safe on Friday. The YWCA Santa Monica/Westside will celebrate Family Safety Day Friday, Oct. 22 from 2 to 6 p.m. The event is part of the YWCA’s “Week Without Violence,” a national campaign that focuses on alternatives to violence and strives for a safer, more peaceful and healthier community.
Children can jump on the moon bounce, become an honorary Santa Monica fire fighter complete with fire hat, get their face painted or tattooed by a member of the Santa Monica Police Department and pretend to be a doctor with the Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles.
Family Safety Day is free to the public. The YWCA Santa Monica/Westside is located at 2019 14th St. in Santa Monica. Call (310) 452-3881 for more information.
