It can’t often be said that the hippest act in any pop music genre hails from the distant shores of Sri Lanka. This is that one time that the island nation that has seen its fair share of turmoil can make that boast.
M.I.A. is widely considered one of the most innovative acts in pop music both here and across the pond. Her unique blend of rap, dancehall, grime and world music has been demanding attention since she first emerged on the scene some four years ago. This critics darling will be bringing her loud, eclectic stage show to the Wiltern Theatre tonight.
This is a relatively rare Los Angeles appearance for M.I.A. Surprisingly, tickets are still available and can be purchased at either the Wiltern’s box office or online at www.tick-etmaster.com. The Wiltern is located at 3790 Wilshire Blvd.
